Why Keep Your Fitness and Weight Loss Records


Did you know that by jotting down your weight loss activities you would be on your way to achieving the weight loss goals? It is true that recording your progress is a powerful way of achieving weight loss success. So how exactly does recording fitness progression help? And why should you care about it? ·         For you to be fully aware of where you are going you must know where you are beginning. This is what we call a baseline; in other words a record of your body make up. The inclusions here are the measurements around different stations of your body, your weight, a before photo, and maybe you can also use a datum clothing. These clothes can be used later to gauge any improvement; whether positive or negative. Even though this process can be tiresome, it is very important as it will tell your progress. You can also get a buddy to help you do all these. 

·         You will have a written goal. It is true that the goals that have been jotted down are clear, defined and up to the point. This is important because having goals that are abstract might make you not to have a clear direction and somewhere on the way you can get distracted and thus become less motivated. As a fresher it is very hard to muster the motivation. Having clear goals is a motivating factor on its own.

·         Balancing of the routines. Having clear records will ensure that you have routines that are well balanced. It is humanly to avoid those things you dislike participating in and concentrate on what excite you most. Same to weight loss routines. Some good fitness programs that you should not miss are Cardio training, strength training and of course nutrition.

·         The human memory can fail you sometimes. Even though you might remember how you are progressing at first, you are likely to forget after sometimes. After going for some weeks you can even find yourself asking what you did the previous week.

·         Let’s revisit motivation. There may come a time where you can rarely notice any change or the simply the progressions commences to plateau. If you have clear records, you will check them and see how far you have come and thus get motivated to pursue your weight loss goals.

·         Prevention of injuries. Recording your past experience with certain exercise machines or fitness program can help you check whether it suits your body. For example, if you felt some pain after doing several sets on a particular machine then it means that next time you will need to reduce the number of sets.

·         There is some degree of accountability. Writing down how is going on will help you to be accountable and thus maintain you on the course of losing weight and avoiding all the distractions that can misguide you.
