Christmas is here with us again. This is the time of the year that we make merry and spread cheer. It is a wonderful time of the year that we party and eat with no limits. Apart from feeling our body, we are also filled with glee during this festive season. Everyone will tell you that it is during this time that they put on weight. Simply because we have notions that at such time of the year, we have to eat sweet things that are within our reach. Shopping during this festive season is also stressing and can lead to what we call emotional overeating.

It is frustrating to gain weight during this season. Especially if one is having complications related to food. Leave alone the great effort that will be required to shake off the weight after the holiday is gone. It will be a nightmare for many after this festive season! Eating Tips during this Festive Season
You can still avoid gaining excess weight this season and enjoy to the fullest the holiday without over eating.  The below tips will help you to eat with sanity during this season and thus maintain or even make you lose weight.

  •            Slow down when eating and savor the flavors.  Increase the time of chewing food as this makes it more digestible when it gets to the stomach.

  •            Lower the craving for sweets. By taking at least one cookie, the craving for sweets is killed. Cookies have no major side effects. If you are able to keep off the cravings then you will definitely avoid other junk foods.

  •            Eat lots of vegetables. Vegetables are very essential to the body. They contain many vitamins and minerals which are important to the body. Their calorie content is low. This implies that you are free to eat as many vegetables as you can without any worry of becoming obese.

  •            Be aware of foods that can make you to binge eat. Being aware of the kind of foods that make you overeat will help you to get a substitute that is healthy.

  •            Check on your levels of intake of sodas and juices. Avoid sodas and canned juices as they contain a lot of sugar which tend to increase cravings. Take plenty of water and fresh juices. Instead of taking drinks that are aerated and canned take fresh juices and plenty of water. Your body will be left hydrated and can thus work optimally. Water also does detoxification to the system.   •             Avoid stress. Get some time for yourself where you can offload stress. Stress increases the craving for junk foods. Consider going for a massage or an out.

  •            Exercise. Many people tend to forget the importance of exercise during the festive seasons. A healthy lifestyle must be packed with a routine exercise plan. Not only will exercise build muscles but will also make your body strong. It will also increase the rate of metabolism. Therefore add a training schedule for strength to your exercise plan.
