Health and Fitness Tips for Women

Every woman desires to stay fit. They want to have bodies that are sexy and slim. Staying healthy, fit and sexy is not an easy task. There are very many factors to put into consideration when striving to stay healthy and fit. You might start observing the rules to help you keep fit but somewhere on the way, you can be overwhelmed and find yourself going back to the dangerous habits and ways.  Here are tips that will help you and keep you on the course as you struggle to keep fit.

Check your diet

Diet is the first thing to look at when controlling weight. Someone said, “You are what you eat”. Definitely a healthy body must be fed with a balanced diet that is good.  As is with the computers rubbish in and rubbish out, so it is with our bodies. If you give the body junky foods, then you will definitely gain bad fats.  Avoid foods that are fatty and have high calories. Keep off red meat too.  Take food that is rich in fiber, and have low fats. Do not forget to take fruits, water and vegetables in plenty.

Hydro-Therapy

Water is very important to the body. Ensure that your water intake is correct. Not taking enough water can result in kidney stones, a condition that is not nice. Water also acts as a detoxifier and removes impurities from your system.  Other positive effects of taking plenty of water include improved skin, increased alertness, production of quality milk for lactating mums and feeling less tired. Experts recommend that a person should take a minimum of 8 glasses of water.

Use Mineral and Vitamin Supplements

Supplements are very important as the food you eat might not give you all the nutrients required by the body. The most important supplements for ladies are iron and calcium. Women of all ages require calcium for strong bones. Calcium is also very essential for menopausal ladies and it combats the problems of osteoporosis.  Women who generally have heavy menses and suffer great loss of blood require iron.

Avoid Smoking

Stop smoking if you are doing it now. Smoking has many negative effects to your body as compared to the little pleasure you might derive from cigarettes. Alcohol too is not good for your health and can lead to some health complications. For pregnant mothers, this is even worse as the baby can be affected adversely.

Start Having Regular Exercise

Exercise is very important and should be part of your daily routine.  You can employ simple ways of exercising like walking from job to home.  Make use of stairs and avoid the use of lifts every now and then. You can as well join you children at the playground and have a bit of fun with them. Another way to exercise is to use Yoga which can be done at the comfort of your home.

Keep the stress away

Try as much as possible to keep off sources of stress to your life.
